Menstrual Waste Management

Today's sanitary pads are 90% made up of plastic material that takes thousands of years to decompose in the environment. We are building up a system that will help the workers and structure a well-define Menstrual Waste Management to accelerate the disposal, collection & elimination of the sanitary napkins and also find ways to reuse the waste.

About Menstrual Waste Management

A single woman can generate up to 125 kg of non-biodegradable waste through her menstruating years alone hence, the demand for a proper and well-defined Menstrual Waste Management is rising. Waste Management workers face several problems with improper disposal methods which are harmful and cause many health hazards. Since Sanitary Napkins are made of 90% plastic contents which take up thousands of years to degrade in the environment. To tackle this drawback, we are developing a system to assist the waste workers and help form a well defined Menstrual Waste Management by accelerating the degradation process and look for a way to reuse this waste for a safer and sustainable environment.
